Music Overview

The music sought a mixture of something organic, modern, unusual, and at the same time with an ancient touch that could link to how old is agriculture. Technology and Ancientness. Doing so required a good selection of the instruments and the composition of two songs, one opening song, and one closing song according to the request of the art direction.

The Instruments

The ancient touch was mainly brought by the pipes. It was used plastic (PVC) pipes that were hit. Despite the plastic material, this instrument resonates notes whose timbre can recall ancient civilizations. The organic versus technology feel was also brought by two marimbas, one made of wood connecting to the forests and one made of glass connecting to the technologies. Some orchestral strings were used to bind all the instruments together and create a unique environment.

Sound Design

The forests and vegetation took a long time to be compounded as organic sound environments. More than three hundred tracks were created to handle the sound design of this project. Automations on the stereo image of the sound were created to enhance the soundscape experience.
